American Exports: Tim Ream signs new contract at Bolton Wanderers after banner 2013-14 season

AMSTERDAM – Following a wait for his UK work permit renewal, reigning Bolton Player of the Year Tim Ream has officially inked an improved three-year deal with the Championship side.

The 26-year-old St. Louis, Missouri, native, whose prior deal was set to enter its final year, originally agreed to the new terms back in May. However, the UK Home Office process put the final ink on hold until Monday.

"I'm really pleased to have extended my deal here," Ream told the Wanderers' official website. "I certainly feel like I've developed as a player during my time over here and with my family we're settled in the local area."

Last season, Ream started 42 league games for Bolton, notching four assists while ably splitting time between central defense, left back and defensive midfield. He was then named Player of the Season by both the club and its supporters, joining Stuart Holden as Americans to have pulled off that awards sweep at Bolton.

Hoping to build on last season's 14th-place finish, Ream & Co. kick off a new Championship slate with an August 9 trip to Watford.
