Independent review panel rescinds red card suspension for Toronto FC forward Luke Moore
Toronto FC manager Ryan Nelsen's wish came true.
He was hoping that Luke Moore's suspension for Saturday's match against DC United would be rescinded after the English forward received a 29th-minute red card in Chicago during midweek (WATCH IT HERE).
On Friday night an independent review panel did just that, removing the automatic suspension and fine associated with the ejection. After the ruling, Moore becomes eligible to play this weekend.
According to a statement from Major League Soccer, Toronto submitted an appeal for review of the play and "the appeal was unanimously upheld by the Independent Review Panel" which consists of one representative each from the United States Soccer Federation, the Canadian Soccer Association and the Professional Referees Organization (PRO).
Earlier this year, the panel similarly rescinded a suspension in the case of DC United forward Eddie Johnson as well as the double red-card suspension issued to Portland's Michael Harrington and FC Dallas player JeVaughn Watson.
