Julio Cesar, the starting goalkeeper for World Cup hosts Brazil, nearly ended his national team career after feeling the brunt of his team’s exit from the 2010 tournament in South Africa. His move from Inter Milan to Queens Park Rangers did not go well, and his career sunk to a new low before it found new life in an unexpected place – Toronto FC and MLS.

Since joining Toronto FC on loan as part of a major offseason overhaul and made seven starts for the Reds before heading to the World Cup, making 18 saves and posting a 1.29 goals-against average in the process.

Be sure to catch the 34-year-old will be in action Monday afternoon, as the Seleçao will look to seal top spot in Group A against Cameroon (4 pm ET, ESPN2).
