AMSTERDAM – Rapid Vienna hitman Terrence Boyd is drawing transfer interest from England and Germany, MLSsoccer.com has learned.

Sources close to the player revealed that the 23-year-old – who will soon enter the final year of his Rapid contract – has held some introductory talks with several clubs in the top two divisions in those countries.

Though it is not yet known if they remain an admirer, Boyd spent time in the sights of Premier League outfit West Ham United last year.

Boyd is also currently on the browsing list of defending Austrian champs Red Bull Salzburg, but the sources indicated that he would be more inclined to move to a tougher league. Prior to signing with Rapid, his highest level of competition came while with the Borussia Dortmund reserves.

The Bremen-born US international is coming off a career-best campaign that saw him bag 20 goals across all competitions, including five in Europa League play to become the all-time leading American scorer in that tournament after just two years as a pro.

Boyd also joined Jozy Altidore, Clint Dempsey, Aron Jóhannsson and Earnie Stewart on the shortlist of countrymen who have scored at least 20 overall goals in a single term for a European top flight club. He was called into Jurgen Klinsmann's pre-World Cup training camp but missed the cut for the final 23-man roster.
