American Exports: Birmingham City expect Jonathan Spector back Saturday vs. Leeds United
AMSTERDAM – Birmingham City expect handyman Jonathan Spector to be available for selection when their Championship survival drive returns home for a visit from Leeds United on Saturday.
The 28-year-old, who has missed 24 league matches through various injuries this season, was kept out of Monday's home loss to Blackburn Rovers after receiving a kick in Saturday's game against Nottingham Forest.
"It was minor," Birmingham press officer Andy Walker told MLSsoccer.com. "He picked up a swollen ankle in the match at Nottingham Forest, and he was held out as a precaution. We think he will be fit for Saturday."
Spector has started all 19 of his Championship appearances on the term, with his time split between right back, center back and midfield.
The Brums will need all hands on deck for the last four games, with a three-game losing slide trimming their cushion on Blackpool and the drop zone down to goal differential, although Birmingham still have one game in hand.
