Robbie Rogers among four loaned to LA Galaxy II for weekend action vs. Sacramento Republic
LA Galaxy winger Robbie Rogers will continue his long quest for match fitness in USL PRO, as the team announced Friday morning that Rogers was among four players loaned to LA Galaxy II for the team's game Sunday against Sacramento Republic FC (Sunday, 10:30 pm ET, streamed live on LAGalaxy.com).
It's been a tough road back to the field for the former US international, who came out of a brief early retirement last year to sign with the Galaxy. However, he was limited during the 2013 season as he attempted to get healthy and match fit, totaling 602 minutes over 11 regular-season appearances and notching just one assist.
Recently, Rogers has struggled with injury, and was listed on the most recent injury report as questionable with a left ankle injury that he described two weeks ago as a "stress reaction." It has kept him out of action since early February.
The assignment is just for the upcoming game against Sacramento, with Rogers, Kyle Venter, Brian Rowe and Chandler Hoffman joining long-term loanees Rafael Garcia, Oscar Sorto, Jack McBean, Charlie Rugg, Bradford Jamieson IV and Raul Mendiola on the Galaxy II roster.
