Gunning for the top? New York Red Bulls' Thierry Henry must be in your team | MLS Fantasy Advice

TRANSFER DEADLINE: Saturday, 3:45 pm ET

THREE BURNING THOUGHTS ON ROUND 4

  1. The Portland Timbers have been in a rut offensively the first few weeks, but Round 4 is when they'll get things going. Dallas have conceded three goals at home and will be without three core players in their midfield – Hendry Thomas (suspension), as well as Andrew Jacobson and Adam Moffat because of injury. Darlington Nagbe has scored more goals against FC Dallas than any other team in the league (4), so hold your horses, and give him one more week to produce.

  2. The Colorado Rapids tied the defending Supporters' Shield winners two weeks ago and beat the defending Western Conference Champions last week. This week they'll face off against Sporting KC, the 2013 MLS Cup winners, at home. Is this Colorado team the real deal under new head coach Pablo Mastroeni? We'll soon find out. Keep an eye on this squad with the transfer market in mind.
  3. The San Jose Earthquakes, coming off a 1-0 loss on the road to Sporting KC, will look to rebound against a New England Revolution team that is struggling to say the least. Chris Wondolowski, who was called up by Jurgen Klinsmann for the US national team's friendly against Mexico, will be looking to make a big statement over the few weeks with hopes of making the 23-man World Cup roster come June. Give him the armband and feel good about it.

MUST HAVE: THIERRY HENRY

Hasn't gotten off to the best start of his career by any means, but with Chivas USA making the long trek cross country to take on the Red Bulls in a much colder environment than they're accustomed to, this is the week the former Arsenal striker goes off. If that isn't enough to give you the courage to invest in him, maybe this will help – Chivas have conceded a league-leading six goals.

DROP NOW: DONOVAN RICKETTS

The Jamaican hasn't been in great form to start the season, conceding goals in each of the first three games, and it's not going to get much easier when he returns. He'll serve a two-game suspension which puts him back in the starting linup for Round 6 (barring injury), but in Rounds 7 and 8 he faces Real Salt Lake and the Houston Dynamo in tough road matchups. Sell him now and spend that $6.0m elsewhere.

JATA'S SQUAD (ROUND 4)

This is how my team looks as we gear up for Round 4. Still on the fence about Tally Hall, but other than that, I'm feeling pretty good.
