FC Dallas and Eric Hassli mutually agree to part ways

FC Dallas and forward Eric Hassli have mutually agreed to part ways, the team announced Friday.

Hassli, 32, joined Dallas prior to the 2013 season in a trade from Toronto FC and made 15 appearances (four starts), registering no goals and one assist. His last appearance for FCD came on July 20 of last year and he subsequently landed on the disabled list with a back injury, which according to the team resurfaced in the 2014 preseason.

The Frenchman arrived in MLS with the Vancouver Whitecaps as a Designated Player prior to the 2011 and made a strong impression in his first season, registering 10 goals and two assists in 26 appearances en route to MLS All-Star honors. He was traded to Toronto midway through the 2012 season and to date has accumulated 15 goals and eight assists over 66 MLS appearances.
