American Exports: Despite transfer rumors, Michael Bradley staying put at Roma

AMSTERDAM – Despite near constant tabloid claims to the contrary out of both England and Italy, sources have confirmed to MLSsoccer.com that AS Roma midfielder Michael Bradley is not in play for any move away from the Scudetto chasers this month.

In recent weeks, the US midfield general has reportedly been the subject of offers from Premier League sides Cardiff City, Fulham and Southampton. This week, Bradley was also linked with potential moves to Bundesliga power Bayer Leverkusen, his former club Chievo Verona and Genoa.

None of these reports, however, has been accurate. The last transfer bid for Bradley came from Sunderland in August, a 7 million euro ($9.3 million) offer that was firmly rejected as being well short of what it would take to pry him away from Roma.

Furthermore, the sources insisted Roma manager Rudi Garcia has no intention of letting Bradley go and the American holds no desire to leave. Since returning from an early-season ankle injury, the No. 4 shirt has made four starts and five sub appearances in league play.

The Romans have not lost a game featuring the American since last spring's Coppa Italia final defeat to city rivals Lazio, and just two of 24 matches dating back to mid-February. It remains to be seen if Bradley will make his third consecutive Serie A start when Roma travel to league leaders Juventus on Sunday.
