The original report linking Jason Kreis to New York City FC has been floating around since September, but on Monday, the guy who broke it – SI.com's Brian Straus – dropped a new nugget: that it could be a near certainty.

Straus tweeted on Monday that, according to a source, the Real Salt Lake coach is "almost 100 percent" headed to MLS' 20th club. Kreis is out of contract at the conclusion of this year and could possibly head out of Utah in a blaze of glory at the conclusion of Saturday's MLS Cup final, his second as a head coach.

Both New York City FC and Real Salt Lake declined to comment when contacted by MLSsoccer.com on Monday, but Kreis responded himself via Twitter:

In the same tweet, Straus also said former US and Egyptian national team head coach Bob Bradley is "seriously considering" the vacancy at the Vancouver Whitecaps, which was first reported last week by The Province's Marc Weber. That same outlet had previously linked Kreis to the Vancouver job as well.

When contacted by MLSsoccer.com, a Whitecaps spokesman said, "We are currently going through the process and our preference remains to not discuss publicly any specifics at this time."
