Castrol Index Weekly Top 20: Clean sheet on road has Chicago Fire's Sean Johnson atop the list
Goalkeepers topped the charts this week in the Castrol Index Weekly Top 20. Chicago's Sean Johnson, Houston's Tally Hall and Philadelphia's Zac MacMath were Nos. 1, 2 and 3 respectively in the Top 20 performers.
Johnson earned 1,645 points by posting a shutout in the Fire's 3-0 win over D.C. United, 39 points ahead of Hall. Hall stopped all five shots on target while recording a clean sheet in the Dynamo's 1-0 win over Montreal Impact. MacMath – also the winning 'keeper in a 1-0 contest – stopped all four Toronto FC shots on target.
Three clubs each had a trio of players in the top performers of the week: Chicago, Colorado and LA. The Rapids were the club with the highest average finish, thanks to a 5-1 win over the suddenly struggling Seattle Sounders. Deshorn Brown, Drew Moor and Dillon Powers all came within the top 10 at Nos. 5, 7 and 8, respectively. Brown got 1,459 points for his brace; Moor earned 1,201 points for his steady defensive play and goal; and Powers, with a goal and an assist, earned 1,189 points.
