MLS Disciplinary Committee suspends Montreal Impact's Sanna Nyassi & Chicago Fire's Daniel Paladini

The Montreal Impact and Chicago Fire will each be missing a player due to suspension this weekend following the Week 19 rulings by the MLS Disciplinary Committee.

On Saturday, the Committee issued a one-game suspension and fine to both Montreal's Sanna Nyassi and Chicago's Daniel Paladini.

Nyassi was sanctioned for an "act of simulation" which led to the Impact's penalty kick equalizer against Chivas USA in a 1-1 draw on July 7 (see video above). The Disciplinary Committee "unanimously determined that Nyassi initially feigned contact by collapsing before the challenge from Chivas USA defender Mario De Luna, resulting in the awarding of a penalty kick."

The Impact winger will miss out on his club's visit to face the New York Red Bulls on Saturday, July 13.

Paladini was given an additional one-game ban on top of his red-card suspension for a "reckless challenge that endangered the safety of his opponent" in a 2-1 loss to Sporting Kansas City on July 7. The tackle on Sporting's Dom Dwyer occurred in second-half stoppage time (see video below), and although referee Baldomero Toledo issued a red card on the play, "the Committee determined that the offense was egregious and required additional action to protect player safety."

Paladini will miss the Sunday, July 14 match in Vancouver and the July 20 match-up against D.C. United.
