Rumor Central: Seattle Sounders cast doubt on landing Spanish DF David Navarro | THE SIDELINE
Reports of the Seattle Sounders' rumored interest in 33-year-old Spanish defender David Navarro have gone on for quite some time now. Spanish papers have been a mix of positive and negative for the Emerald City club.
Sounders sporting director Chris Henderson spoke publicly for the first time about the Navarro rumors on Tuesday, throwing a bit of cold water onto the fire for hopeful Sounders fans.
CH on David Navarro: "He's a move I don't know if we're going to be able to make or not, but I think he's a player who'd do well in MLS."

It seems that the Sounders would love to add the verteran center back during the summer transfer window, but Navarro may be just out of their reach. His contract with current club Levante was reportedly terminated upon mutual consent, but after fallout from the Obafemi Martins transfer earlier this year, there appears to be a bit of bad blood. It looks like the Spanish side could make things slightly more difficult for the Sounders this time around.
It is unknown whether the interest between Navarro and the Sounds is mutual. Major League Soccer's summer transfer window opens Tuesday, July 9.
