Rumor Central: Frank Yallop in line to return as Canadian national team coach by August?
Is Frank Yallop's next stop a return to his old stomping grounds?
Ever since the two-time MLS Coach of the Year stunningly parted ways with the San Jose Earthquakes earlier this month, speculation began as to where the former Canadian international might land — including back in the national team driver's seat. Yallop coached Canada from 2004-06, but resigned in frustration after a fruitless World Cup qualifying campaign.
On Tuesday came the first acknowledgment that the wheels could be churning toward a return. Tyler Green, a producer with Team 1040 radio in Vancouver and partner of Whitecaps play-by-play man Peter Schaad, tweeted that he's been told by sources that Yallop could take the reigns of the Canadian national team by August.

The Canadian Soccer Association didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MLSsoccer.com on Tuesday evening, the same day the federation named Colin Miller as interim head coach of the senior team for next month's Gold Cup.
Canada have been without a full-time head coach since Stephen Hart — who served as an assistant under Yallop — stepped down last October.
