Vancouver Whitecaps' Kenny Miller earns Player of the Week award for brace vs. New England

There's a reason Kenny Miller has the best goals-per-90-minutes ratio of any starter in MLS this season.

Miller put forth a heroic performance for the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday by scoring twice in a 4-3 win over the New England Revolution, a performance that earned him Week 16's MLS Player of the Week award as voted by the North American Soccer Reporters. (See how the NASR voted here).

The Scottish international first scored on an impressive individual effort near the end of the first half to pull the Whitecaps level at 2-2, only to bury another sublime strike that stood as the eventual winner in the 68th minute of the wild affair at BC Place.

Both strikes are up for AT&T Goal of the Week for Week 16. Miller also became the second Vancouver player ever to win MLS Player of the Week, and the first since the Whitecaps' inaugural MLS season, when Camilo took the honors way back in Week 3 of 2011.
