It's a double week for four teams in Round 16 of MLS Fantasy Soccer: Portland, Vancouver, Montreal and Colorado. Every move can make or break your round. So let's take a closer look at Diego Valeri, Russell Teibert and Patrice Bernier, three of the top midfielders owners are using a transfer on this week.

While each of them plays a significantly different role for their respective clubs, all have proven to be effective point-getters in MLS Fantasy this season.

Diego Valeri: Second-most points (61) among Portland midfielders. Valeri did not play in Week 13 because of injury, but he returned to action last week to start against Chicago. He notched a goal, a big chance created and a clean sheet in 67 minutes played. His nine points were the ninth-most by any player in Round 15 and the sixth-best among midfielders.

  • Pros: Takes set pieces and corner kicks. Has the ability to make the crucial pass in the final third or shoot on goal. Good at creating chances for others and likes to push the attack.
  • Cons: Played 67 minutes in his first appearance back after recovering from a hamstring strain that has kept him out since May 19. The Timbers play three games between June 15-23, meaning head coach Caleb Porter could choose to rest him a bit.
  • Key Stats: 21 successful crosses (T-10th overall), 24 key passes (T-10th overall), 4 goals (T-14th overall)

Russell Teibert: Second-most points among Vancouver midfielders. Broke onto the scene in Week 11, scoring two goals in the team's 3-1 victory over the LA Galaxy at home. Since then, he's notched three assists, including two against Seattle last week.

  • Pros: Takes set pieces and corners kicks from the right side of the field. Fast and speedy winger who can cross or shoot from distance. Good with the ball at his feet and has the ability to beat defenders in 1-v-1 situations.
  • Cons: Misses out on the ability to take set pieces and corner kicks from the left side of the field. Can go without touching the ball for several minutes. Defense is giving up too many goals (9 goals in the last 6 games), so clean sheets are unlikely.
  • Key Stats: Last 4 games – Eight crosses, eight key passes, one big chance created, 22 recoveries and 31 total points

Patrice Bernier: First in points (55) among Montreal midfielders. Bernier has gone 90 minutes in each of the team's past four games, averaging 5.0 points/game during that stretch. In his last four games, he's accumulated 18 CBIs, 46 recoveries and a big chance created.

  • Pros: With a bye in Round 15 and another bye coming up in Round 17, he should be capable of playing the full 90 minutes in both games this round. Has the ability to start the attack quickly after recovering the ball. Takes penalty kicks as well.
  • Cons: Not a goalscorer or set-piece specialist. Hasn't logged a clean sheet since March 23.
  • Key Stats: 115 recoveries (third-most among all field players), 47 CBIs (20th among midfielders)
