All-Star Game: All-time Commissioner Don Garber's All-Star picks team | THE SIDELINE
Every summer around the weeks leading up to the Major League Soccer All-Star Game, MLS Commissioner Don Garber completes the roster of league reprentatives with his two Commissioner's picks. Basically, a pair of unsuspecting MLS players, who were probably previously ticked off to have not been voted in, are added to the roster and rewarded with a spot in the game.
It's kind of like at Christmas, when you thought Santa Claus was going to bring you that really awesome, 10,000-piece LEGO set that you've been asking for since you first saw it in August, but you open all your presents and it's not there. So your parents tell you they've got one more surprise for you, and you should go look in the garage. You look in the garage, and boom! 10,000 LEGOs to leave all over the floor of the house for the next year.
Only, your parents are Santa in that story, and Garber is Santa to the MLS All-Stars. Unless you're five years old and you're reading this, in which case, Santa Claus very much exists and your parents have nothing to do with him.
Back to the story at hand: Commissioner Garber will once again round out the 2013 MLS All-Star roster with his two Commissioner's picks. We take a look at the all-time Commissioner's picks roster, dating back to 2000:
