NBC Sports Network's MLS 36 makes its season debut Sunday with LA Galaxy's Omar Gonzalez | THE SIDELINE

The NBC Sports Network debuted a fantastic new program called "MLS 36" in August 2012, the broadcast company's first year in partnership with Major League Soccer, that gave MLS fans the chance to see 36-straight hours into the life of some the league's biggest stars, including Chris Wondolowski, Dwayne De Rosario and Darlington Nagbe.

The first season of "MLS 36" was made up of a total of five episodes, each following a team's star player for the 36 hours leading up to and through an MLS league game. Perhaps my last impression to come from the first season was seeing Kyle Beckerman in full fisherman gear, dreadlocks in tow, doing a little fly fishing 24 hours before a game against D.C. United.

"MLS 36" was so well received in its inaugural season that the show has returned for a second campaign, with a brand new slate of feature subjects. First up, as announced on Friday, is LA Galaxy and US national team center back Omar Gonzalez. Omar may be a Dallas, Tex., native, but if the above preview of "MLS 36" is any indication, he's taken quite well to the laid back lifestyle in Southern California.

You can catch 36 hours of Omar Gonzalez's life on the NBC Sports Network this Sunday afternoon at 4 pm ET, which conveniently leads you right up to the network's national broadcast of the New England Revolution's home date against an Omar-less Galaxy team (4:30 pm ET, NBCSN).
