San Jose Earthquakes launch live stadium construction webcam | THE SIDELINE

There's a small mound of dirt and a handful of cars driving by an empty plot of land across the street from the San Jose International Airport, and beginning on Tuesday, you can now watch said dirt field, live and online from anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day.

The dusty pasture being broadcast via webcam is, of course, the construction site of the San Jose Earthquakes' brand new soccer-specific stadium, which is set to open its doors and host the Quakes in 2014. To view the live webcam, day or night, visit the new stadium webcam page on the Earthquakes' official team site.

The 18,000-seat stadium, which will be a near-$70 million facility by time of completion, saw its first ground broken on October 21, 2012, by 6,256 different people to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest participatory groundbreaking ever.

For further updates check out the Quakes' New Stadium Blog, also at SJEarthquakes.com.
