Wait and see? LA Galaxy have no word yet on Robbie Keane's calf injury
No telling how long, or whether, Robbie Keane's calf injury will keep him out of action for the LA Galaxy, at least not until he rejoins the team this week and sees club doctors.
That's the word from the Galaxy, who flew Monday to Washington in advance of Tuesday's White House ceremony celebrating their MLS Cup title and the Stanley Cup championship won by the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, who also are owned by AEG.
Keane suffered a calf strain in Ireland's scoreless draw Friday against Sweden, and he was ruled out of the Republic's World Cup qualifier on Tuesday against Austria in Dublin. He has remained with the Irish national team, as planned, and will join the Galaxy later in the week.
The Galaxy, through a spokesman, said that there would be “no timetable or anything further until he is evaluated by our medical staff.”
LA travel to Canada for Saturday's clash against Toronto FC following the White House reception.
