Report: Seattle, SLC, Columbus, KC targeted for WCQs
Turf or not, Seattle may just get its wish to host one of the four remaining World Cup qualifiers still up for grabs.
Jurgen Klinsmann's squad will play Costa Rica at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on March 22, but US Soccer has yet to announce the venues for matches against Panama, Honduras, Mexico and Jamaica.
On Saturday, reports tabbed Columbus — the city where Dos a Cero was coined -- as the venue for the USMNT's Sept. 10 match against Mexico. On Monday, Sports Illustrated's Grant Wahl followed that up by reporting the USSF was targeting Seattle (CenturyLink Field), Salt Lake City (Rio Tinto Stadium) and Kansas City (Sporting Park) to host the remaining matches.

A US Soccer spokesman on Monday told MLSsoccer.com that "nothing is finalized in terms of venues for the other four home World Cup qualifying matches."
After beginning the Hexagonal stage with a 2-1 loss to Honduras in San Pedro Sula, the US has nine games to earn one of CONCACAF's three World Cup berths for Brazil 2014. The fourth-place finisher in the Hex will play a two-game series against Oceania's top finisher for an additional World Cup place.
