Report: Schmid says unfit Joseph unlikely to join Sounders
The short flirtation between wayward MLS veteran Shalrie Joseph and the Seattle Sounders appears to be over.
Sounders head coach Sigi Schmid told the media on Saturday that he does not expect Joseph to join the club after a two-day trial, and said that the four-time MLS Best XI midfielder appeared unfit during his stay in Seattle.
Joseph, who was traded from New England to Chivas USA last summer, was granted permission to train with Seattle after Chivas USA head coach Jose Luis Sanchez Sola said last month that Joseph would not figure into the team's plans in 2013.
Seattle Times reporter Joshua Mayers tweeted out Schmid's comments on Satruday after the team's workout.
Sigi Schmid said his expectation right now is that Shalrie Joseph won't be joining the Sounders.

Schmid indicated Joseph was in for a two-day look & won't be traveling Monday to Arizona. Added some other teams might look at Joseph next.

Sigi Schmid on Shalrie Joseph: "It's very evident that he hasn't trained in a while. It's evident that he's very much behind physically."
