American Exports: Gatt is back in training with Molde
AMSTERDAM – Recovering Molde FK winger Josh Gatt has resumed training with the Norwegian champs, but the club have not yet set a date for his return to action.
The 20-year-old injured his left hamstring shortly after scoring off the bench in a July 21 win over Tippeligaen visitors Viking.
"He'll be ready when he's ready," Molde physio Leif Arne Lystad told MLSsoccer.com. "It's a tricky [injury]. He's started training, so it's not too far away."
Gatt was one of the league's stars over the first half of the season, notching five goals and five assists in 18 games across all competitions before the injury setback. The Michigan native is ranked fourth in cumulative Tippeligaen ratings this season by Norwegian paper Aftenposten and sixth by rival publication VG.
He missed out on the two-leg UEFA Champions League qualifying series against Swiss side FC Basel, where Molde bowed out in heartbreaking fashion after missing a stoppage time PK.
Molde will host second flight Sandefjord in the NM Cupen quarterfinals on Saturday before starting Europa League playoff round action at home to Heerenveen next Thursday.
Standing a point off the top of the table, they return to Tippeligaen play when Chad Barrett's Vålerenga visit the following Sunday.
