Timbers' Mosquera suspended three games for LA incident
NEW YORK – Major League Soccer's Disciplinary Committe suspended Portland Timbers defender Hanyer Mosquera for three games on Friday and fined him an undisclosed amount for striking LA Galaxy forward Jack McBean in the 94th minute of the game on June 17.
The Committee determined that Mosquera’s infraction was violent conduct, outside the scope of play and endangered McBean’s safety. Mosquera’s suspension will begin on Sunday when the Timbers host the Seattle Sounders.
Mosquera has started 10 games this season for the Timbers since joining the league after six seasons in his native Colombia.
