Impact's Bernier voted Player of the Week for Wks. 13-15
Patrice Bernier wishes every week could be Montreal's home opener.
And with the way he played, why not? Bernier's three assists paced the Impact to a 4-1 triumph over the Seattle Sounders in the opener of Stade Saputo on Saturday and earned him Player of the Week honors for Weeks 13-15, as voted on by the North American Soccer Reporters (see who and how the media voted here).

The 32-year-old Montreal-area native led the Impact to their highest single-game goal tally in their young MLS career, which included a brilliant feed to Felipe who buried the newly renovated stadium's inaugural goal.
The nod is Bernier's first in what was just his eighth career MLS game, after signing on with Montreal last December from Lyngby BK of the Danish first division.
Bernier received seven of the 18 votes cast, narrowly edging out runner-up Fabián Espíndola, whose brace led Real Salt Lake to a 3-0 win over Chivas USA. Chicago's Chris Rolfe and Patrick Nyarko, Vancouver's Darren Mattocks, and Bernier's teammate Felipe also received first-place votes.
