This time luck was on Sean Johnson's side.

After a tumultuous early season for the Chicago Fire goalkeeper, which included an unfortunate last-minute play against El Salvador that cost the USA a spot in the 2012 Olympics, Johnson has vaulted himself back among the league's elite netminders with the Save of the Week award as voted by the fans for Week 10.

The 22-year-old's deflection of a searing Roger Espinoza shot just before halftime in a 2-1 Fire win on May 12 topped this week's ballot. Unlike what occurred during CONCACAF Olympic qualifying, his touch saw the ball strike the crossbar to prevent a Sporting Kansas City goal.

Johnson beat out New York rookie Ryan Meara for the award and he became the second Chicago goalkeeper to capture the honor after his back-up Paolo Tornaghi earned it in Week 4.

The voting totals follow below.

Week 10 Voting Results

1. Sean Johnson (CHI) 29.8%

2. Ryan Meara (NY) 27.53%

3. Matt Reis (NE) 20.74%

4. Bill Hamid (DC) 12.47%

5. Chris Seitz (DAL) 9.45%
