American Exports: Molde's Gatt to miss 4-6 weeks
AMSTERDAM — Molde FK winger Josh Gatt is set to miss at least four weeks after a Monday scan uncovered a tear in his injured hamstring, MLSsoccer.com has learned.
The Michigan teen was filling in at right back when removed after 12 minutes during Sunday's scoreless draw with Odd Grenland. The injury occurred without contact.
"Joshua has got a partial rupture of his right hamstring muscle and is suspected to be out for four to six weeks," Molde physiotherapist Leif Arne Lystad told MLSsoccer.com on Tuesday.
This season, his first with Molde, Gatt has notched three goals and three assists while making 14 starts in his 22 Tippeligaen appearances.
Molde will continue on a quest for their first league crown with Friday's visit to Mikkel Diskerud's Stabæk. With an eight-point lead four games from the finish line, a victory in that game would put them on the brink of clinching the title.
There is still a chance that Gatt can see action this year. The Norwegian league takes a three-week break beginning on Oct. 31, before returning to wrap up the final two rounds of the season on Nov. 20 and 27.
