Feilhaber eager for Klinsmann tenure as USMNT coach
Having had a good view of Jurgen Klinsmann's tenure with Germany, New England Revolution midfielder Benny Feilhaber said he is eager to see what the fresh appointee will bring to the table as US manager.
The Revs playmaker was with Bundesliga side Hamburg when the new USMNT boss led Die Mannschaft to a bronze finish in front of the home fans at World Cup 2006.
"Everyone in Germany really seemed to like Klinsmann while he was the coach for their national team," Feilhaber told MLSsoccer.com. "Of course that comes with results, and he did well during his time there."
Klinsmann is expected to name his first US squad on Wednesday for next week's "friendly" visit from archrivals Mexico at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
"I'm sure he's going to bring a very positive mindset to our national team and help us in improving our team with many new ideas," Feilhaber added. "I hope I get a chance to meet and work with him soon, as I'm sure are all the players."
Feilhaber, who has notched 38 USMNT caps, has a goal and three assists in 11 games with the Revs this season. A call-up on Wednesday would mean he'll miss Saturday's home match with Chivas USA.
