Montreal Impact, BMO announce five-year partnership

MONTREAL — The Montreal Impact on Tuesday announced a five-year partnership program with BMO, which will officially begin in 2012 when the team enters Major League Soccer.

BMO will become the team's leading sponsor, and their logo will feature on the front of the team's jersey, which is to be released in the upcoming weeks. The logo will also be present in a special section of the stadium, on the player's bench, at the stadium's entrance and on the home tickets.

The Impact's president, Joey Saputo, announced the new sponsorship program in the stands of the stadium, which had been specially designed for the event.

"Today, we have reached another historic milestone," Saputo said. "It is with great pride that we announce a great partnership for a great soccer city. BMO Financial Group is a financial institution that is constantly increasing its involvement with the soccer community. Through BMO, the Impact is giving its firm commitment to remain accessible even after it enters MLS."

The president of BMO Financial Group, L. Jacques Ménard, also announced special programs such as "BMO Team Up with the Impact," which will enable young players from local club to attend next season's home games, in a special section. These players will be able to act as flag bearers, player escorts and ball retrievers.

"We are delight to be joining the Montreal Impact as the exclusive presenting partner when the team makes its entry into MLS in 2012," Ménard said. "This important partnership is proof of our mutual commitment to developing soccer in Quebec. BMO is product to associate its brand with the world's most popular sport and with a team that will pull in crowds and thrill Montrealers and Quebecers."

BMO customers will be able to take advantage of the "Power of Blue" program for all the Impact's MLS home games, such as a discount on tickets, an exclusive entrance to the stadium, VIP treatments other unique experiences.

The partnership with the Impact fits perfectly with the institution’s grassroots support of 900 girls and boys’ teams across Canada, including 140 in Quebec.

BMO is also a major partner of fellow Canadian clubs Toronto FC and the Vancouver Whitecaps.
