AMSTERDAM – Rizespor ace Freddy Adu bagged his third winner in just his 10th Bank Asya 1.Lig game on Sunday, nodding home a first-half goal in a vital 3-1 defeat of Tavşanlı Linyitspor.

The Benfica loan item buried a lunging header near the half-hour to notch his fourth goal for the hosts, who vaulted back into the promotion playoff zone with one game left.

Also ringing the bell on Mothers Day was Ingolstadt halftime sub Edson Buddle, who scored the classy equalizer in a 1-1 share at 1860 Munich. Just past the hour, the former LA Galaxy star beat two defenders on the edge of the area before curling home a shot to the far post despite slipping on the attempt.

In other 2.Bundesliga action, David Yelldell made three big saves as Duisburg climbed to sixth with a 3-1 victory against Paderborn.

Karlsruher netminder Luis Robles was dropped to the bench for a 2-1 loss at cellar dwellers Arminia Bielefeld.

In Denmark's SAS Liga, Clarence Goodson was named Man of the Match after Brøndby's 1-1 derby draw with already-crowned champs FC Copenhagen.

Elsewhere, recovering FC Nordsjælland defender Michael Parkhurst went unused in a 2-0 loss at Esbjerg.

In Norway's Tippeligaen, Mikkel Diskerud and Stabæk are up to third and a point off the top thanks to a wild 4-3 victory at FK Haugesund. The Blue were up three by the 33rd minute, then allowed the hosts to rally level before grabbing the points on Veigar Pall Gunnarsson's 83rd-minute winner.

Finally, Oguchi Onyewu was a Saturday injury scratch, but still collected Sunday silver as FC Twente fought back from two down to win their third KNVB Cup with a 3-2 extra-time victory over Ajax in Rotterdam.
