Jan. 13 - The Red Bulls select four players in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft; Penn State University forward Corey Hertzog, English midfielder John Rooney, North Carolina State defender Tyler Lassiter, and University of Maryland midfielder Billy Cortes.

Jan. 17 - Jan Halvor Halvorsen joins coaching staff as assistant coach.

Jan. 24 - Red Bulls sign Norwegian International Jan Gunnar Solli.

Jan. 25 - The Red Bulls sign their third player from the Red Bulls Academy, midfielder Matt Kassel. Kassel played three years at the University of Maryland, where he was part of the 2008 National Championship team.

Jan. 28 - Red Bulls sign English forward Luke Rodgers.

Jan. 31 - The club makes its fourth Academy signing, inking defender Sacir Hot. In 2010, Hot made his first appearance for the United States Under-20 National Team.
