Current Roster

Top flight soccer is nothing new in Montreal – the city boasted an NASL team as early as 1971 – but the Impact spent nearly two decades in the lower divisions before joining MLS in 2012.

And make no mistake: The Impact joined the league with their club's history and tradition in tow. The club opted to keep the Impact name "to maintain its... global team image." Despite an updated logo, Montreal continued to draw heavily from the city's history in creating their brand, retaining their trademark blue and the fleur-de-lys as a symbol of the city's French heritage.

But the Impact's arrival in MLS did prompt one change: A new club motto written on the upper edge of their shield. Roughly translated to, "everyone for victory," it was an announcement of the team's early ambition for MLS success. And after almost 20 years racking up titles in the lower divisions – their scalps include three league championships and seven Voyageurs Cup victories – the Impact now hope to extend another team tradition in the top flight.
