Current Roster

It's fitting that a team representing a city famed for its stars should be named the Galaxy, but Los Angeles' MLS franchise - one of the ten MLS originals - was renowned early on not for their premier status, but for their inability to seal the deal in the biggest games.

Between their inaugural season and 2001, LA advanced to MLS Cup a total of three times, losing out twice to D.C. United in 1996 and 1999 and once to their California Clasico rival, the San Jose Earthquakes, in the 2001 title game.

In the next ten years, however, the Galaxy corrected their early bridesmaid-syndrome to become one of the most dominant teams in MLS. After winning two titles in 2002 and 2005, LA rang in the changes in 2007 by updating their logo, uniform, and signing the league's first Designated Player, English superstar David Beckham.
