KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Sporting Kansas City already knew they’d be without Aurélien Collin for the US Open Cup final because of yellow-card accumulation.

Now, they’ll have to do without their French center back for at least one league game as well, after Collin sustained two facial fractures in Wednesday night’s AT&T MLS All-Star Game.

CHESTER, Pa. – There were pleasantries exchanged, hugs and pats on the backs between some old acquaintances before the 2012 AT&T MLS All-Star Game even began. It almost made you forget the heated ferocity between them in English Premier League battles nearly a decade ago.

When David Beckham was playing out his final season with Manchester United nine years ago, it marked the last time he butted heads in top-of-the-table clashes with Arsenal’s Ashley Cole and Thierry Henry, and Chelsea’s John Terry and Frank Lampard.

CHESTER, Pa. – By now, David Beckham’s hectic schedule shouldn’t surprise anyone.

That doesn’t make the 74-minute shift he put in during Wednesday’s AT&T MLS All-Star Game any less impressive, though. Beckham didn’t train with his teammates prior to the match. He flew in from London, where he is part of the preparations for Friday’s Olympic opening ceremony, less than 24 hours before kick off and hightailed it back across the Atlantic following the All-Stars' 3-2 win over Chelsea.

Sporting Kansas City defender Aurélien Collin is expected to miss 1-2 weeks, the club announced on Thursday.

The All-Star center back suffered two facial fractures in a midfield collision with Chelsea's Michael Essien during Wednesday's AT&T MLS All-Star Game at PPL Park. The 26-year-old Frenchman started for Ben Olsen's squad alongside Vancouver's Jay DeMerit in the back line, going 36 minutes before being replaced because of injury by Philadelphia's Carlos Valdés.
