Scan three rows up into the midfield stands at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park during Wednesday night’s AT&T MLS All-Star Game, and you just might spot Ryan Brashier.
He’ll be easy enough to pick out – just look for a burgundy and white Colorado Rapids scarf draped over a Tottenham Hotspur jersey.
Colorado took off on AT&T MLS All-Star Game eve, with Tottenham holding an open training session at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in the morning, a very special match kicking off in the afternoon and the Chipotle MLS Homegrown Game and an MLS-hosted party providing plenty of fireworks after dark.
Scenes from Tuesday are below:
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – FC Dallas have signed more Homegrown players than any other MLS club, so it should come as no surprise that it was one of their own who shined in Tuesday’s 2015 Chipotle Homegrown Game.
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – Landon Donovan’s coaching didn’t end perfectly, result-wise, but he had no reason to be unhappy.
Sure, his roster of MLS Homegrown players fell on penalty kicks in the second annual Chipotle MLS Homegrown game after a back-and-forth 1-1 draw on Tuesday night, but all in all, the experience was a positive one.
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Maybe Landon Donovan has a future at this coaching thing.
Playing against the Under-20 side of Mexican giants Club América in Tuesday night’s second annual Chipotle MLS Homegrown Game, Donovan led a team of MLS academy products assembled one day prior to a 1-1 regulation tie. But the MLSers couldn’t finish the job in the ensuing penalty-kick shootout, losing 5-4 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
All-Star: After initial snub, Ethan Finlay "humbled" to be added along with Columbus Crew SC teammates
DENVER – Left out of the initial Fan XI and Commissioner’s Picks, Columbus Crew SC now finds themselves well represented in the 2015 AT&T MLS All-Star Game.
Could MLS follow the example set by Major League Baseball and make the All-Star Game mean something come the end of the season?
When Tottenham Hotspur take to the field to face the MLS All-Star team at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Wednesday (9 pm ET; FOX Sports 1, UniMás in the US; TSN, RDS in Canada), one Major League Soccer club owner in particular will be an avid viewer.
Former NBA star Steve Nash is a lifelong Tottenham fan. He's also been a part owner of the Vancouver Whitecaps since July 2008 in their pre-MLS days.
All-Star: Tottenham Hotspur look forward to facing motivated All-Star team, playing high-altitude game
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – After last year’s feisty encounter, there was little doubt left as to the competitive nature of the AT&T MLS All-Star Game.
All-Star: As Major League Soccer's recognition grows in Europe, Tottenham players consider eventual move
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – It may be a ways down the road for some, but at least a couple of Tottenham Hotspur players have Major league Soccer on their minds as they make their long-term career plans.
