Jesús Padilla joined Chivas USA on August 17, 2009, on loan from Chivas de Guadalajara. In his first season with Chivas USA, Padilla played in 11 games (10 starts) and scored his first MLS goal on Oct. 3, 2009 at D.C. United in a 2-0 Chivas USA victory. The versatile Padilla, who can play both at forward and in the midfield, was born in San Jose, Calif., to Mexican parents on March 3, 1987, and holds dual citizenship between Mexico and the United States. He joined Chivas de Guadalajara after playing a youth tournament in Guadalajara as a 14-year-old, and eventually broke into the first team in 2006.
MLS Experience 2009: Joined Chivas USA on August 17, and played in 11 games (10 starts) making his debut with the club in a 2-0 win over Toronto FC on August 22. Padilla scored his first MLS goal on 10/3 at D.C. United in a 2-0 victory for Chivas USA.

Padilla joined the Chivas de Guadalajara youth system at 14 after being scouted during a tournament in Guadalajara.
