American Exports: Santos Laguna confirm Herculez Gomez transfer to Club Tijuana
GUADALAJARA, Mexico – It’s been a recurring rumor that is now fact: Herculez Gomez will join Club Tijuana.
“We have been able to confirm, and it will be announced in coming hours, that Herculez Gomez will play for Xolos de Tijuana,” ESPN's John Sutcliffe wrote in his blog on Tuesday.
ESPN colleague Jorge Ramos also tweeted the same information and announced it on his Jorge Ramos y Su Banda radio show on Tuesday afternoon.

Several hours later, Santos confirmed the move via the club's official Twitter account:

Xolos are Gomez’s fifth Liga MX club since moving from MLS to Puebla in January 2010. The move ensures Gomez another year of CCL action after proving to be a near constant thorn in the sides of MLS teams with Santos.
Gomez is currently with the US national team ahead of its Friday night World Cup qualifier at Jamaica (9:30 pm ET, beIN Sport).
- Played 45 games for Santos, totaling 2,569 mins with 13 goals in the league and nine in the CCL.
- Had one year left on his contract with Santos Laguna.
- Xolos starting striker Alfredo Moreno has officially left the club and it was an open secret they were looking for another striker to fill the gap. Colombian forward Duvier Riascos is also likely to leave Xolos.
- Coach Antonio Mohamed has just left and fellow ARgentine Jorge Almirón has taken his place.
