Piquionne joins the Timbers after playing the last three seasons in England, including the last two as a member of West Ham United. His career includes eight seasons (2001-09) in France’s top-flight Ligue 1, playing in more than 200 matches and scoring more than 50 goals with clubs Renne, Saint-Étienne, AS Monaco and Lyon. At the international level, Piquionne has one cap with the France National Team, but most recently represented Martinique during the 2012 Caribbean Cup.

2011-12: Played in 20 league games for West Ham United during the Championship (second division) season, recording two goals … Provided the game-winner in a 2-1 win against Coventry City for his first goal of the season Nov. 19, 2011 … Scored again two games latter, contributing to a 2-0 victory against Middlesboro on Nov. 29, 2011 … Was sent out on loan to Championship side Doncaster Rovers, and started eight games for Doncaster from March 6 to April 7 … Netted a goal in his club debut with Doncaster, contributing to a 2-1 victory against Nottingham Forest on March 6, 2012 … Headed in a 4th-minute goal in a 3-1 loss to Birmingham City on March 30, 2012 … Returned to West Ham following his final match with Doncaster Rovers on April 7, 2012.

2009-10: Acquired by English Premier League club Portsmouth on a season-long loan from Lyon … Appeared in 45 matches across all competitions, recording 11 goals during the campaign … In league play, scored five goals in 34 matches, with his first Premier League goal coming in first-half stoppage time of a 4-0 win over Wigan Athletic on Oct. 31, 2009 … Was a key contributor for Portsmouth in the club’s run to the FA Cup final, appearing in seven games and scoring three goals … Was named the Player of the Round for the Sixth Round following a two-goal performance in a 2-0 win over Birmingham City on March 6, 2010 … Scored the game-winning goal in the 99th minute of a 2-0 overtime victory against Tottenham on April 11, 2010, to secure Portsmouth place in the cup final … Netted three goals in four League Cup games, including a brace in a 4-0 win in the Fourth Round over Stoke City.

2008-09: Was signed by Olympique Lyonnais on July 31, 2008 … Appeared in 19 league matches, scoring two goals … Scored his first goal for Lyon in his UEFA Champions League debut, leading the club to a comeback 2-2 draw against Italian side Fiorentina on Sept. 17, 2008 … Played in three Champions League fixtures as Lyon reached the Round of 16 … Scored Lyon’s lone goal – his first league goal with the club – in a 2-1 loss to FC Nantes on Dec. 6, 2008 … Netted an 81st-minute equalizer in a 2-2 draw against former club  Monaco on April 12, 2009 … Lyon finished third in the table with a 20-7-11 record.

2007-08: Scored seven goals over 32 league matches during his lone full season with Monaco … Tallied five of those goals over the first seven matches of the campaign, contributing to a 4-1-2 start for the club … Notched the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win against Lille on Aug. 29, 2007 … The goal against Lille was the first of four game-winning strikes he scored over the course of the season … Came on as a halftime substitute against Sochaux on Jan. 23, 2008, and scored the game-winner in the 78th minute, leading the club to a 1-0 victory … Also contributed two assists.

2006-07: Got off to a hot start for Saint-Étienne, recording five goals and three assists in the opening seven games of the season … Scored six goals in 18 games through the first half of the season before being loaned to AS Monaco during the January transfer window … Continued his scoring ways at Monaco, tallying five goals in 14 games through the remainder of the campaign … Found the back of the net in each of his first two matches with Monaco, one of which was the game-winner in a 2-1 victory against AJ Auxerre on Feb. 3, 2007 … Scored twice over the last three matches of the season, contributing to a 2-0 win May 26, 2007, against AS Nancy … In total, compiled 23 goals in 91 league appearances over three seasons with Saint-Étienne.

2005-06: Fully joined Saint-Etienne, and tallied six goals in 34 league matches … Helped lead the club to the third round of the 2005 UEFA Intertoto Cup, appearing in all four matches for Saint-Etienne and scoring one goal … Bagged both goals in a 2-0 win over FC Metz, scoring four minutes apart in the 27th and 31st minutes on Aug. 13, 2005 … Struck the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory against OGC Nice in the 7th minute on Sept. 10, 2005.

2004-05: Was loaned by Rennes to promoted Ligue 1 club AS Saint-Étienne and made an impact, scoring 11 goals in 37 league games … Started all but one of his league appearances … Recorded three, two-goal performances during the season … Scored both goals of a 2-2 draw against Paris Saint-Germain on Aug. 29, 2004 … Contributed two goals to a 5-0 win over Caen on Dec. 11, 2004 … Helped secure a 3-0 victory over AC Ajaccio on March 16, 2005, with goals in the 63rd and 65th minutes.

2003-04: Made 31 appearances (20 starts) for Rennes and tallied five goals in league play … Struck the game-winning goal in a 2-0 win over Le Mans on Sept. 27, 2003 … Three of his five goals were scored in matches in which the club lost … Scored the go-ahead goal in the 60th minute of an eventual 3-2 loss to Bastia on Dec. 3, 2003 … Found the opening goal of a 2-2 draw against Le Mans in the 13th minute on Feb. 28, 2004 … In total, recorded 18 goals in 83 Ligue 1 matches during his time with Rennes.

2002-03: Finished his second season with Rennes as the club’s leading goal scorer with 10 goals in 31 league matches … Ranked among the top scorers in the league … Recorded a hat trick in a 5-1 victory against Lille on Nov. 30, 2011 … Scored the club’s lone goal in consecutive matches against Marseille Aug. 24 and Bastia on Aug. 31 … Tallied in back-to-back matches against Bordeaux on April 5 and Le Havre AC on April 12.

2001-02: Made the move to Ligue 1 side Stade Rennes and played in 20 matches, scoring three goals in his first season in France’s top flight … Made four appearances during the 2001 UEFA Intertoto Cup, recording a brace in Leg 1 of the two-game, third-round series against Russian club FC Synot on July 15, 2001 … Scored in the 85th and 90th minutes of the 5-0 victory … Made his Ligue 1 debut in the season opener July 28, 2001, in a loss to AJ Auxerre, entering the match as a substitute in the 70th minute … Notched his first Ligue 1 goal in a 3-1 loss to AS Monaco on Dec. 22, 2001, scoring in the 80th minute … Tallied the decisive goal in a 2-1 win over Marseille on March 16, 2002, finding the back of the net in the 74th minute.

2000-01: After playing amateur club soccer in Martinique, signed his first professional contract with second-division French side Nîmes Olympique … Made eight league appearances, scoring two goals.
