KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Sporting Kansas City already knew they’d be without Aurélien Collin for the US Open Cup final because of yellow-card accumulation.

Now, they’ll have to do without their French center back for at least one league game as well, after Collin sustained two facial fractures in Wednesday night’s AT&T MLS All-Star Game.

CHESTER, Pa. – In his ideal world, Philadelphia Union midfielder Freddy Adu would have played in last weekend’s game against the Red Bulls and then followed that up by suiting up for the MLS All-Stars in his home stadium at PPL Park on Wednesday.

But the 23-year-old didn’t play in either – which left him champing at the bit to get back out on the field for the Union’s next game, a Sunday showdown against the New England Revolution at PPL Park (7 pm ET, NBCSN).

HOUSTON – After a quiet spring, Brad Davis is enjoying his summer.

As the heat sets in, Houston’s talisman is starting to round into form and it is no coincidence that the Dynamo are surging as a result. Davis season got off to a slow start due, in large part, to the same quad injury that kept him out of MLS Cup 2011. After an April calf injury cost him an additional two matches, the result was a start that produced just two goals and two assists in the first 13 matches.

CARSON, Calif. – With goals hard to come by this season, it appears that Chivas USA would pounce on any glimmer of hope.

Paolo Cardozo provided such a glimmer against the LA Galaxy a week ago, but will that translate into more opportunities for the second-year midfielder? Perhaps. But whether he finds himself in the starting lineup or on the bench is not keeping him up at night.

BURNABY, B.C. – Between injuries and a dip in form, 2012 has not been the ideal follow up for Camilo’s team Player of the Year season in 2011.

Thankfully, for both the Vancouver Whitecaps and Camilo himself, it looks as if things are starting to turn around.

Sporting Kansas City defender Aurélien Collin is expected to miss 1-2 weeks, the club announced on Thursday.

The All-Star center back suffered two facial fractures in a midfield collision with Chelsea's Michael Essien during Wednesday's AT&T MLS All-Star Game at PPL Park. The 26-year-old Frenchman started for Ben Olsen's squad alongside Vancouver's Jay DeMerit in the back line, going 36 minutes before being replaced because of injury by Philadelphia's Carlos Valdés.
