A Christian Pulisic brace and a goal from FC Dallas Homegrown forward Alejandro Zendejas (pictured above) highlighted the US Under-17 national team’s 3-1 victory Friday over England in the teams’ opener of the 2014 International Friendlies tournament at the Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
The in-the-works friendly between the US national team and Germany is beginning to look a little more official.
For Canada, a win in Panama City would have been nice – but a draw is still a step in the right direction.
“You look at it as one point on the road in Central America,” veteran midfielder Julian de Guzman said after Tuesday night’s 0-0 draw against Panama. “In a World Cup qualifier, that’s worth more than one point.”
It was hardly a thing of beauty, but Tuesday night’s friendly gave Canada something it rarely gets – a result on the road in Central America.
