On Sunday, Canada’s Under-17 national team went into a one-game playoff against Costa Rica at the CONCACAF U-17 Championship, being held in Honduras, with a spot in this year's FIFA U-17 World Cup on the line. The Canadians were solid in the group stage, going 3-1-1 and rallying for a 3-2 victory against that same Costa Rican side.

The Canadians earned a 1-1 draw with Mexico to remain undefeated after three matches, following a 3-1 win over Haiti and a 3-2 victory over Costa Rica. Tristan Borges, a midfielder from the Toronto FC Academy, scored a long-range golazo late in the first half to cancel out an early strike from Mexico’s Ulises Torres.
The US Under-17 national team continued their dominant form in the CONCACAF U-17 Championship with a 2-0 win Monday over Trinidad & Tobago behind goals from Joe Gallardo Jr. and Haji Wright at Estadio Francisco Morazan in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
With the win, the US sit firmly atop Group A in the World Cup qualifying tournament after two games following their 5-0 win over Cuba on Friday – a match highlighted by a Gallardo hat trick.
