VANCOUVER, B.C. – It’s been an underwhelming second season at the helm for Vancouver Whitecaps head coach Martin Rennie, with his side currently sitting second-to-last in Major League Soccer’s Western Conference.

Wednesday’s failure to lift the Voyageurs Cup at BC Place – despite leading the Montreal Impact twice – is arguably the lowest point in the Scotsman's tenure in Vancouver.

Now that the visitors’ locker room at BC Place has quieted down, hard work can carry on for the Montreal Impact.

While Marco Schällibaum, the man, enjoyed winning the Impact’s eighth Voyageurs Cup title as much as any Montrealer, Marco Schällibaum, the coach, knows that the direct result of this victory is at least four more games on the schedule.

Hay un solo campeón en Canadá y se llama Montreal Impact.

The first was a test run, but the second of Hassoun Camara’s set-piece attempts delivered the Montreal Impact their eighth Voyageurs Cup.

The Frenchman’s ninth-minute diving header, it seemed, canceled out Camilo’s exquisite free kick that had given the lead to the Vancouver Whitecaps just four minutes into their Amway Canadian Championship final second leg at BC Place on Wednesday night.

VANCOUVER, B.C. – A failure to effectively defend a set piece once again haunted the Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday, as Hassoun Camara was allowed to head home unmarked in the 84th minute to secure the Montreal Impact the Voyageurs Cup.

In his press conference immediately following the 2-2 result, which ensured an Impact championship on away goals, Whitecaps head coach Martin Rennie expressed his belief that there was a block on the play which ensured Camara being so open.

VANCOUVER, B.C. – The Montreal Impact are Canadian champions, thanks to a late Hassoun Camara header that secured a dramatic 2-2 draw against the Vancouver Whitecaps at BC Place on Wednesday night in the second leg of the Amway Canadian Championship finals.

Following the scoreless first leg, all Montreal needed was a draw to claim the trophy in Wednesday's second leg – which they secured through Camara’s 84th-minute header and a 49th-minute strike from Felipe.
