Rumor

Venezuelan international defender Oswaldo Vizcarrondo could be leaving América for America.

The US may be the destination for the current Club América player, who is ready to leave Mexico for MLS, although Uruguayan side Peñarol have also stepped up the chase, according to Venezuelan media.

Vizcarrondo's representative, José Luis Luraschi, says he's awaiting formal offers to come through this week in order to evaluate them with Club América, who will reportedly be expecting some sort of compensation.

After Sporting Kansas City's scoreless draw with Houston on Saturday, Carlos Bocanegra gave some insight into a situation still developing some 4,000 miles away in Glasgow, Scotland.

Like his Rangers teammates Maurice Edu and Alejandro Bedoya, Bocanegra faces a decision about his future at Rangers after the club went into administration and is on the verge of being forced into Scotland's lower divisions. Unlike his teammates, though, the US defender has been consistently linked with MLS and spoke to SKC play-by-play man Callum Williams about that very possibility.

Watch the video above to see what Bocanegra has to say and check out this report with more insight into his thoughts on the current state of the club and Scottish football.

Andriy Shevchenko has apparently made up his mind on where his future lies.

According to reports, the former AC Milan and Chelsea star will be returning to the English club to work for his good friend Roman Abramovich. This article cites the president of his most recent club Dynamo Kiev, who spilled the beans.

However, Shevchenko himself hasn't pronounced himself just yet. He's just undergone knee surgery after starring for Ukraine in Euro 2012 and he plans to rehab before going public on his final decision.

The Scottish Premier League's loss just may be Major League Soccer's gain.

After the collapse of storied club Glasgow Rangers, their prized winger Sono Aluko is being linked with a move across the pond to the United States. According to a report from The Scottish Sun, the 23-year-old Nigerian international has declared publicly that he does not want his contract renewed, with the publication contending that the Houston Dynamo are leading the charge for his services.

According to the Sun, the New England Revolution are also in the hunt for the outside midfielder, who scored 12 goals in 21 appearances last season for 'Gers. The English-born Aluko spent three seasons playing for fellow SPL side Aberdeen – where he tallied seven times in 82 appearances  prior to joining Rangers. The report also mentions Championship sides Crystal Palace and Charlton as teams interested in Aluko's services.

If the Scottish Football Association agrees to transfer his registration, he could be set to make an immediate impact for whichever club he signs with.

Other than to say it looks like Sporting KC's ambition knows no bounds, I'll let Peter Vermes do the talking on this one.

The Kansas City manager begins discussing the club's pursuit of the Mexican national team starlet around the 3:30 mark in the video below.

Andriy Shevchenko may be taking his talents to Major League Soccer.

The 35-year-old Ukrainian icon has been linked to MLS and says he has "several offers." In a report by The New York Times, Shevchenko — who is married to former American supermodel Kristen Pazik — is prepared to spend time with his two sons in the United States.

While he plans on waiting until after this month's European Championship to make any decisions, he has certainly proved he still has the scoring touch. In Ukraine's 2-1 victory over Sweden in the opening round game of Group D on Monday, Shevchenko scored twice in three minutes to overcome a 1-0 deficit and propel the co-hosts to the top of the leaderboard.

Sheva now has 49 goals in 109 caps for Ukraine, and after a quiet few years since his disappointing production at both Chelsea and AC Milan, a 2009 move to Dynamo Kyiv helped fuel his resurgence. With 23 goals in 53 games, it's become clear that despite his age, he refuses to go away quietly.

While we will not know for certain Shevchenko's intentions until he settles in after the Euros, his move to the States looks more like a "when" than an "if." With the type of numbers he is putting up, and the current form he is in, there are certainly no shortage of MLS teams who could use his firepower up front.

It may have gotten lost outside Philadelphia with Euro 2012 hogging the headlines, but rumors swirled this weekend that Union head coach Peter Nowak had put his name in the hat for the managerial opening at Scottish Premier League side Hearts.

Nowak was quick to deny the claims, but that doesn't mean the Edinburgh Evening News' Barry Anderson is backing off his report, coming out on Twitter to make his position clear.

So who to believe? Tell us what you think in the comment section below.

The rumors have been swirling around about a possible -- no, probable move away from Fulham for USMNT star Clint Dempsey this summer. The player himself has been very vocal about his desire to play in the Champions League

"I've always said I'm grateful for everything Fulham has done for me," he said recently. "Some of the best memories I have in soccer have been there. But the fact remains that I want to play in Champions League. I want to play at the highest level possible."

That could become a reality this summer, if a big club comes along to pluck the EPL's 4th top scorer this season. All it will take, according to The Guardian, is £15 million ($24.5m). The English paper rates Dempsey #42 out of the top 50 transfer targets this summer, just behind Chelsea defender David Luiz and just ahead of Benfica midfielder Axel Witsel.

Is that about where Dempsey sits in the pecking order? Probably, though, I think I speak for most US national team fans when I say, someone is going to get a deal if they pick him up for just £15 million this summer.
