San Jose Earthquakes confirm formal complaint filed with CONCACAF over Toluca filming training

The San Jose Earthquakes confirmed to MLSsoccer.com on Thursday that the club indeed filed a complaint with CONCACAF over Toluca allegedly filming one of their training sessions, as first reported by Fox Sports' Brian Dunseth.

The issue in question, according to an Earthquakes spokesman, centers around a Toluca-employed cameraman allegedly filming San Jose's final practice on Tuesday at Estadio Nemesio Díez a day ahead of their CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal second leg.

According to the San Jose spokesman, the club filed a "formal, written complaint" with CONCACAF, and the incident was also discussed before Wednesday's game. The Quakes and Toluca drew 1-1, with the hosts advancing after winning a penalty shootout 5-4.

It wasn't immediately clear what kind of action the confederation would take, or what kind of investigation the confederation would launch, if any. When contacted by MLSsoccer.com, a CONCACAF spokesperson confirmed that the San Jose spokesman's description of the incident was accurate, but did not discuss any potential investigation.
