The American worked the last eight minutes of the contest, which was decided by a Nicolai Brock-Madsen strike shortly after intermission.
AMSTERDAM – A handful of Americans took part in Monday night football overseas, with Michael Bradley enjoying a steady outing as AS Roma rallied for a 1-1 home draw with archrivals Lazio.

Rapid eventually concede dan equalizer with seven minutes left to extend their win drought to nine games, but the point earned lifted them back into the league's last Europa league slot.
AMSTERDAM – Fabian Johnson helped Hoffenheim get their survival drive turned in the right direction with a 3-0 home victory over Fortuna Düsseldorf on Friday.
While Daniel Williams was dropped for the contest by new coach Markus Gisdol, Johnson returned to left back for a clean shift, earning three free kicks on his flank without conceding any. In part thanks to the American's efforts, Hoffenheim posted back-to-back Bundesliga shutouts at home for the first time since October of 2011.
American Exports: Brad Friedel, Clint Dempsey, Spurs in tough spot after Europa League quarter first leg
AMSTERDAM – Brad Friedel and Tottenham Hotspur have work to do in the return leg after opening their Europa League quarterfinal tie with a 2-2 rally draw against visiting Swiss champs Basel on Thursday.
The veteran netminder notched fives saves, with the best denying Valentin Stocker a late free-kick winner. Friedel was overrun on the away side's 30th-minute opener and then had to watch a well-placed corner kick header fall agonizingly past his reach only five minutes later, but the hosts managed to clawed back to even by the hour mark.
