Norwich City forward Kei Kamara, on loan from Sporting Kansas City, will make his first trip to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal on Saturday.
It's no easy task, obviously, to get a result in North London, especially for the Canaries, who are in 14th place, just four points above the English Premier League relegation zone.
Scoring will be no easy task for Kamara, especially if Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has his way. The French tactician is impressed with Kamara, the first Sierra Leonean to score in the EPL, and also pretty wary of him.
"It's absolutely fantastic what he is achieving," Wenger told Arsenal.com. "It's down to quality of scouting that these clubs do, and you have to give them credit for that. To keep Grant Holt out of the team, [Kamara] must have something special. We have, of course, to keep him quiet on Saturday."
The Arsenal-Norwich City match is on Fox Soccer at 10 am ET, if you want to see if the Gunners can indeed keep the chatty Kamara quiet.

Kamara would have scored against Sunderland, powering a soaring header into an open net, if it weren't for Wes Hoolahan's predatory instincts on the goal line. As it stands, it's a spectacular assist that gives the Sierre Leone international another special moment on loan from Sporting KC.
Will he be going back to Sporting Park? That remains to be seen, but it's clear Kamara hasn't forgotten what he perfected in front of the Kansas City faithful. That jig remind you of anything?

This unplugged musical tribute to Kei Kamara, currently on loan at EPL side Norwich City from Sporting KC, and his "heart-shaped hands" goal celebration isn't going to get a favorable review in the latest issue of NME, but you've got to applaud the guy's gumption to sing it loud and proud on BBC Radio Norfolk's McVeigh and Butler show. Colorado s’est renforcé avec l’ailier chilien de 22 ans Kevin Harbottle, qui évoluait à l’Universidad Católica. Dans le même temps, le club des Rocheuses a laissé partir Jeff Larentowicz à Chicago. Autre milieu central important de la MLS à s’être trouvé un nouvel employeur : Julio César rejoint Toronto, lui que Kansas City avait décidé de ne pas conserver.
Comme depuis le début de la période des transferts, ça a beaucoup bougé à Portland. Le club a coupé les ponts avec le joueur désigné Chris Boyd, décevant depuis son arrivée. Il a aussi laissé partir Mike Fucito à San José. Enfin, il a trouvé un accord pour permettre à Robbie Findley de jouer à Salt Lake. Le joueur avait quitté la MLS en 2010 pour rallier Nottingham Forest et, en cas de retour, devait évoluer à Portland suite au repêchage d’expansion 2010.
Autre nouvelle réjouissante pour les supporters de Salt Lake : la prolongation de contrat de Javier Morales. Même nouvelle au LA Galaxy, pour Robbie Keane qui a signé un bail de plusieurs saisons. Le club californien a aussi transféré Juninho à titre définitif, lui qui louait le Brésilien depuis trois saisons.
Pendant que les rumeurs du passage de Brek Shea à Stoke se faisaient insistantes, Philadelphie, où l’avenir de Freddy Adu est de plus en plus incertain, a officialisé le prêt de son capitaine Carlos Valdés à l’Independiente Santa Fe en Colombie. Enfin, Andy Najar est convoité par Anderlecht dont la première offre a été refusée par DC United.

Le marché des transferts entre la MLS et l’étranger a été très actif depuis le retour de vacances, que cela concerne des arrivées définitives, des prêts, des départs, des rumeurs ou des joueurs désignés.
Ainsi, deux nouveaux joueurs désignés sont arrivés sous forme de prêt. Portland pense avoir trouvé son maître à jouer en Diego Valeri, en photo ci-dessus sous le maillot de son ancien club, Lanús (Argentine). De son côté, DC United a été chercher à Bahia (Brésil) l’attaquant Rafael, deuxième plus jeune joueur désigné de l’histoire de la MLS. Autre prêt, celui à Montréal du milieu italien Andrea Pisanu par Bologne.
Alors qu’il a laissé partir Kevin Hartman, Dallas lui a trouvé un remplaçant en la personne de Raúl Fernández, gardien de l’équipe nationale du Pérou acquis à titre définitif aux Français de Nice. Autre international qui fera ses débuts en MLS, le défenseur équatorien Diego Calderón quitte le LDU Quito pour Colorado. De son côté, Vancouver a ramené sur le continent le géant américain Brad Rusin, qui avait tenté sa chance au Danemark. Le principal transfert interne du début d’année est le passage de l’Estonien Joel Lindpere de New York à Chicago. Notons aussi que Tyson Wahl, laissé libre par Colorado, a signé à Columbus.
Le départ qui a surpris bien du monde est celui d’André Hainault, qui quitte Houston pour rejoindre Ross County, mal classé en D1 écossaise. Le fait que Roger Espinoza rejoigne aussi les îles britanniques, et plus précisément Wigan, était en revanche attendu depuis longtemps. Son coéquipier Graham Zusi s’entraîne pour sa part à West Ham. Andy Najar (DC United) a réussi son entrée en matière à Anderlecht (Belgique), où il est prêté pour un mois. Fredy Montero a déjà dit au revoir à ses coéquipiers, même si son départ de Seattle n’est pas encore officiel. On l’annonce à Millonarios, en Colombie, pays où pourrait aussi aboutir Carlos Valdés (Philadelphie).
Rumors have been flying about the future of the US international and Chivas USA striker Juan Agudelo ever since he trained at Celtic in November. Now, it seems the 20-year-old's future could be close to decided.
Although vague and unsourced, Sky Sports reported Friday that Celtic are close to signing one of MLS' most-promising forward prospects. While nothing has been confirmed by Agudelo or Celtic, Agudelo's retweet of the Sky Sports article seems to add some veritas to the rumor.
Chivas USA, meanwhile, told Big Apple Soccer back in November that they weren't interested in transferring the young talent. Agudelo, who is currently training with West Ham before arriving in US camp, would likely welcome the move, if his comments while with the Glasgow club are any indication.
Agudelo told STV at that time that he would love to play for Celtic: "This kind of move has been on my mind for as long as I can remember playing soccer. Going and playing in Europe is what I would like to do. This is, right now, where the best football is being played. I would love to play here."

The New Year may bring another much-needed move for Maurice Edu, the former Toronto FC No. 1 pick and 2007 MLS Rookie of the Year .
In August, Edu jumped from Rangers to Stoke City in hopes of gaining valuable Premier League experience. Unfortunately, he’s only seen 10 minutes of playing time with the club.
With World Cup qualifiers inching closer and closer, Edu simply can’t afford to be sitting on the bench. But sources are reporting that Edu may be in luck – Stoke City are open to loaning him out by the end of January, so the versatile defensive midfielder doesn’t jeopardize a spot on Jurgen Klinsmann's World Cup qualifying roster.
Where exactly Edu would end up is still up in the air, but there has been chatter suggesting he could join up with EPL sides poised to lose players to the African Cup of Nations as well as several Ligue 1 clubs.

Si en años recientes, la MLS ha sido uno de los destinos preferidos de los futbolistas colombianos, hoy podemos hablar acerca de una “operación retorno” de muchos cafeteros hacia su país.
El primero en partir oficialmente fue Hernán Pertuz. El barranquillero fue presentado hace dos semanas por el Deportivo Independiente Medellín, tras dejar las filas del FC Dallas; equipo en el que estuvo el año pasado junto a David Ferreira, Jair Benítez y Fabián Castillo.
Otro que ya dejó la MLS definitivamente para la próxima temporada es Miguel Montaño. El delantero de 21 años de edad fue puesto en libertad por el Montreal Impact y ahora engrosará el ataque del Cúcuta Deportivo. Montaño llegó a la MLS en 2010 a Seattle Sounders, y estuvo a préstamo el año pasado con el Deportivo Cali.
En el campo de los rumores, varios nombres de primer nivel encabezan la lista de jugadores que podrían volver al fútbol colombiano.
A continuación analizo los puntos a favor y en contra de cada una de las siguientes situaciones; asimismo, presento en mi opinión la viabilidad de las transacciones en una escala de 1 a 5, siendo 5 la posibilidad más alta para un posible traspaso.
Juan Pablo Ángel
El exdelantero de los New York Red Bulls, y más recientemente Chivas USA, que lo dejó en libertad en noviembre pasado, podría llegar al club de sus amores, Atlético Nacional.
A favor: Se encuentra sin contrato actualmente. Nacional es el club donde nació futbolísticamente, y en más de una ocasión ha declarado su deseo de volver. Un inminente retiro en los verdes garantizaría un cierre de ensueño para la carrera de JPA.
En contra: Ha pensado en retirarse del fútbol luego de la campaña 2012. Igualmente, ha dicho que su familia está muy tranquila viviendo en Los Ángeles, razón por la cual aceptó en agosto de 2011 jugar para Chivas USA cuando Robbie Keane llegó al LA Galaxy. En ese momento el cupo de jugador franquicia de Ángel en el cuadro galáctico era necesario para la contratación del irlandés.
Viabilidad de traspaso: 4
David Ferreira
El volante creativo del FC Dallas, quien se dio a conocer internacionalmente en el América de Cali, ha sido vinculado con el Junior de Barranquilla. El MVP de la temporada 2010 de la MLS, estuvo más de un año sin actividad, luego de una lesión al comienzo de la temporada 2011, en abril.
A favor: En el Junior están buscando un “10” tras la salida de Giovanni Hernández al Medellín. La firma que representa a Ferreira cuenta en su cartera con varios futbolistas que juegan en Colombia, y tiene vínculos estrechos en el país.
En contra: FC Dallas apoyó ciegamente a Ferreira durante su lesión hasta su regreso en julio de 2012, donde no dudó en devolverle a la alineación titular. Es un líder indiscutido en el equipo texano, y es uno de los baluartes del medio campo en la MLS.
Viabilidad del traspaso: 1
Fredy Montero
Uno de los nombres que más ha sonado es el del delantero del Seattle Sounders, Fredy Montero. El exjugador del Atlético Huila y Deportivo Cali, podría llegar al actual campeón de la Liga Postobón, Millonarios, en préstamo por seis meses.
A favor: Posibilidad de jugar Copa Libertadores con el club de Bogotá, y buscar acercamientos para volver a la selección Colombia, de la cual no hace parte desde 2009. Además, las fuertes críticas a las que ha sido expuesto en Seattle, donde no superó las altas exigencias que el equipo depositó en Montero el año pasado, podrían impulsar el préstamo.
En contra: A pesar de las críticas, Montero es un ídolo en Seattle. Como todo un Rock Star es recibido en cada partido por los fanáticos de los Sounders, y su salida podría significar un golpe fuerte al club. De la misma manera, Montero, está muy cómodo en los Estados Unidos con toda su familia, y acaba de contraer matrimonio en diciembre con su novia estadounidense.
Viabilidad del traspaso: 3
Carlos Valdés
En un principio se habló de la vuelta de Carlos Valdés, capitán del Philadelphia Union, a Independiente Santa Fe, en calidad de préstamo. El club de la capital colombiana quiere a Valdés durante el primer semestre del año, periodo en el cual se medirán en la Copa Libertadores, pero el Union no está convencido con el tiempo que piden en Bogotá.
A favor: Valdés buscaría mantenerse en forma durante el receso invernal de la MLS, para ser de nuevo convocado a la selección Colombia que reanudará las eliminatorias suramericanas el 22 de marzo ante Bolivia.
En contra: Philadelphia Union lo cedería solamente hasta el inicio de la temporada regular de la MLS, que arranca el 2 de marzo.
Viabilidad del traspaso: 2
Ustedes mismos saquen sus conclusiones, y aunque no veo fácil ninguno de los traspasos, tampoco se me hacen imposibles. Sin embargo, a mi modo de ver, el que tiene más posibilidades de ser repatriado a Colombia, es Ángel, a no ser que anuncie su retiro del fútbol profesional.
After some haggling in the press – read failure to budge by the Union – it appears a loan deal proposed by Santa Fe for the services of Carlos Valdes is finally kaput. That sound you hear is the collective sighs of relief emanating out of The City of Brotherly Love, as the Sons of Ben avoid the exit of one of the lynchpins of their team ahead of a promising 2013 campaign.
Except that might not be the end of it (key word: might). Now it seems Colombia head coach Jose Pekerman has taken it upon himself to recommend Valdes to an even bigger South American power – Boca Juniors.
Count me among those that take Pekerman's words as simple praise rather than a true indication of interest from the Argentine giants, but you never know. It could be an interesting few months in Philly as John Hackworth looks to keep hold of one of the league's top center back from a year ago.
A step down in quality could be just what little-used Sporting KC rookie Dom Dwyner needs to get on the field, and it looks like St. Mirren of the Scottish Premier League are ready to offer it.
STV Sport out of Scotland say that Saints skipper Danny Lennon has the striker in Paisley for training right now, with an eye toward a wintertime loan. Dwyer, who was born and raised in England, would not require a work permit.
"I became aware of Dom through an agent," Lennon told STV. "Kansas City's season is over and there are one or two of the MLS players trying to get over [to Britain]. It has been on the back burner for a month to six weeks, but Dom is over now.
"It would only be a short-term one for us so we will have to wait and see but the reports we have had on him are positive."
Dwyer got on the field but once for Sporting in his rookie season, playing four minutes. St. Mirren currently sit 11th in the 12-team SPL.
