The total number of probable, confirmed and suspected cases of Ebola in Sierra Leone, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria and now Senegal was 6,263 with 2,917 deaths, as of September 21, according to the World Health Organization.  The number of deaths linked to Ebola in West Africa continues to rise and is spreading at an unprecedented rate.  The Center for Disease Control estimates that the number of Ebola cases in Liberia and Sierra Leone could rise to between 550,000 and 1.4 million by January without further intervention.

This is a world-wide emergency that requires a world-wide response.

Join Portand Timbers midfielder, Darlington Nagbe (Liberia), and Seattle Sounders FC center back, Djimi Traore, and forward, Obafemi Martins, to support the #TackleEbola campaign and efforts already being made to contain, control and ultimately stop the outbreak.

Summer has come to an end and September is here, which means one very important thing - It’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and our clubs are supporting League-wide effort to raise funds and awareness for pediatric cancer research.   All month long, teams will host a Childhood Cancer Awareness Match and this Sunday, the New England Revolution and Columbus Crew will both host theirs.   Under the lights at Rio Tinto Stadium, Real Salt Lake will also host their CCA Match against FC Dallas.  Our goal is a cure for Childhood Cancer...make it your goal too!   Before you watch your favorite players step onto the pitch, take a look at how they’ve made a difference in their community.

Another weekend of matches is here with top teams from both conferences battling for three points.  This weekend, FC Dallas hosts Real Salt Lake in a match that’ll surely keep you on the edge of your seat.  Undefeated in its last nine matches, FC Dallas trails Western Conference leader, RSL, by only three-points.  Over in the Eastern Conference, leader of the pack, Sporting Kansas City takes on second place, D.C. United who attempt to keep their momentum alive after a 4-2 win last week.  With so many awesome matchups this weekend, it’s going to be hard to focus on anything but soccer.  Before tuning in, make sure you check out how your clubs are making a difference in their respective communities.

Week 23 of MLS play is filled with intriguing matchups.  The New England Revolution travel to the Northwest for a matchup against the Portland Timbers.  Both teams enter Saturday’s match on the doorstep of playoff contention.  Three points for either club could position them above the red line at the end of the weekend.  In other MLS news…class-act, Landon Donovan has decided that this season will be his last as a professional but don’t worry folks, we have another two months to enjoy the League’s most prolific goal scorer in action!  Watch the Galaxy take on the Crew as the two clubs continue to solidify their playoff positions.  Before you power on that TV or access your MLS Matchday app, be sure to take a look at how our clubs are making a difference in the community.
