This Friday evening, we enter another weekend of MLS matches with one of the biggest of the season in the Western Conference. Summer has come to an end and September is here, which means one very important thing - It’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and our clubs are supporting League-wide effort to raise funds and awareness for pediatric cancer research. All month long, teams will host a Childhood Cancer Awareness Match and this Sunday, the New England Revolution and Columbus Crew will both host theirs. Under the lights at Rio Tinto Stadium, Real Salt Lake will also host their CCA Match against FC Dallas. Our goal is a cure for Childhood Cancer...make it your goal too! Another weekend of matches is here with top teams from both conferences battling for three points. This weekend, FC Dallas hosts Real Salt Lake in a match that’ll surely keep you on the edge of your seat. Undefeated in its last nine matches, FC Dallas trails Western Conference leader, RSL, by only three-points. Over in the Eastern Conference, leader of the pack, Sporting Kansas City takes on second place, D.C. United who attempt to keep their momentum alive after a 4-2 win last week. With so many awesome matchups this weekend, it’s going to be hard to focus on anything but soccer. Week 23 of MLS play is filled with intriguing matchups. The New England Revolution travel to the Northwest for a matchup against the Portland Timbers. With just under three weeks until the 2014 AT&T MLS All-Star game, the Fans’ XI was announced on Wednesday. Eight of the eleven players chosen by the fans were members of the USMNT World Cup roster and the other three are soccer icons that have World Cup memories of their own. The 2014 World Cup is underway with 32 teams competing for the FIFA World Cup Trophy . On Monday, the United States will challenge Ghana in their first match in Brazil. Closer to home, D.C.
