Colorado Rapids
Add the Colorado Rapids to the list of MLS teams Eddie Johnson has been linked with since his career in Europe went cold.
Back in August, it appeared Johnson was signing with MLS, only for that to sputter before gaining any real momentum. Then it looked like he was preparing to join DaMarcus Beasley at Puebla in Mexico, but that never materialized either.
Today, the Washington Post's Steven Goff tweeted that he was hearing the Rapids were in discussions to bring the former Dallas and Kansas City striker back to MLS. Based on all the false alarms, only time will tell whether Johnson find his way back to the United States, but this is certainly one worth watching.
Hearing the Colorado Rapids are in talks concerning well-traveled USA striker Eddie Johnson. Might have more details today. #mls

This week, familiar themes populate the Depth Chart: trades, the USMNT and yet another big LA acquistion.

In honor of Paul Bravo’s new contract signing last week, I thought to dig up this gem from the archives. Back in the day, I started as a PA that had to comb through Beta tapes logging highlights… and low lights. This was one of my all-time favorites. Enjoy!

It seems that the 4-3-3 revolution has reached the Rockies. Colorado Rapids technical director Paul Bravo, head coach Oscar Pareja and team captain Pablo Mastroeni sat down with supporters on Wednesday night and talked about the direction the team's headed in preseason, with the answer being "We're going Dutch."
As with all 4-3-3s, the key is finding the right man to run the midfield, and Bravo had news on that front as well. He and Pareja will be working their South American contacts to find a "true No. 10."
