Columbus Crew goalkeeper, Matt Lampson knows a few things about facing opponents head on. Lampson battled Stage 4 Hodgkin's lymphoma six years ago but through chemotherapy and perseverance, he beat the disease and made his 2013 MLS debut with the Crew.  The Columbus native is bringing awareness for Lymphoma, not only on the field by sporting bright green goalkeeper gloves and green ribbons but also off the field. Lampson is a Spokesperson for the Central Ohio Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and speaks at various events to Lymphoma survivors and their families. For his continuous work to raise awareness for children and the LLS, Matt Lampson was named the MLS WORKS September Humanitarian of the Month.

While visiting Kansas City, guests were reminded of Major League Soccer's commitment to tolerance.  Fans were encouraged to Take a Stand for Soccer by taking the Don’t Cross the Line pledge.  By first kick of Wednesday’s 2013 AT&T MLS All-Star game, more than 1,000 fans joined MLS and AS Roma in their stand against discrimination.  Watch MLS All-Stars take the pledge.

MLS WORKS joined Sporting Kansas City and the Sporting Club Network to dedicate two newly constructed futsal courts on Tuesday at Wyandotte High School as part of the 2013 MLS All-Star Community Day.  The day began with an eight-team youth tournament consisting of teams from the 8th street YMCA and local youth soccer clubs.  Community residents and families of the tournament participants enjoyed a carnival-like atmosphere while they rooted for their favorite team.  Watch more.

Prior to Wednesday's 2013 AT&T MLS All-Star Game, Sporting KC players Chance Myers and Seth Sinovic visited patients at Childrens Mercy Hospital.  Accompanied by Kansas City's favorite mascot, Blue, the Sporting KC players delivered 2013 AT&T MLS All-Star scarves to kids in the Hematology and Oncology (HEMOC) division.

The MLS WORKS Community MVP Grand Prize winner was honored during halftime of Wednesday's 2013 AT&T MLS All-Star Game. Congratulations to Bobby Samra representing the Vancouver Whitecaps FC! Bobby won $20,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.  Read more about this year's Community MVP
