Jonathan Yardley

A native of Morristown, N.J., Jonathan Yardley has worked in sports broadcasting and has covered MLS since 2002. After attending Rice University, where he called play-by-play for the baseball team's 2003 national championship and the early seasons of the school's soccer program, he spent two seasons calling games in baseball's minor leagues (he actually enjoyed the interminable bus trips).

Jonathan worked for the Houston Dynamo from 2008-11, serving as the team's radio play-by-play voice for three seasons, and has worked as a freelance television broadcaster since 2011, calling soccer for ESPN, the SEC Network, and several MLS teams and calling college sports for ESPN3 and other outlets.

In addition to his broadcasting work, chronicled on his blog Behind the Mic, Jonathan serves as a contributing editor for MLSsoccer.com.
